Refinery and petroleum materials
1-Gasoline: It is one of the most important petroleum products used to fuel cars and engines. Gasoline is suitable for this purpose due to its chemical composition and combustion characteristics.
2-Diesel: This fuel is used for diesel engines, especially in trucks, agriculture, and heavy industries. Diesel usually provides more energy than gasoline, but is used for heavy transportation vehicles due to its more complete combustion.
3-Fuel Oil: This fuel is heavier than gasoline and diesel and is mainly used as fuel in power plants and ships.
4-Kerosene: This substance is used for various purposes such as jet fuel, oil lamps, and also in some heating devices and small engines.
5- LPG
It is composed of propane and butane. These gases are obtained from the refining process of crude oil or natural gas and are stored as liquids at appropriate temperatures and pressures.
Propane (C₃H₈): A colorless, odorless, and non-toxic gas that is mainly a gas at standard temperatures and pressures, but liquefies at high pressures or low temperatures. Propane evaporates more easily at lower temperatures than butane.
Butane (C₄H₁₀): A colorless, odorless gas that typically evaporates at higher temperatures than propane. Butane is used more in warmer regions.
6- Types of Fuel Oil
Fuel oil is one of the important fuels in industry, but due to its polluting properties, many efforts are currently being made to reduce its use and replace it with cleaner fuels. Fuel oil has different types depending on its characteristics and applications:
Heavy fuel oil: This type of fuel oil has a higher viscosity and is suitable for use in large industries or ships.
Light fuel oil: This type of fuel oil is less dense than the heavy type and is easily used at lower temperatures.
7-Pyrolysis gasoline
Pyrolysis is a chemical process in which organic materials are decomposed under conditions without the presence of oxygen (at high temperatures) to produce new products. This process is usually carried out at temperatures between 400 and 800 degrees Celsius and in airless conditions (without oxygen). Pyrolysis is used to convert various materials into simpler and more useful compounds. As an important chemical process in converting organic materials into new sources of energy and useful materials, it has many applications and can help reduce waste and produce cleaner energy in various industries.
